I was just wondering if I'm the only one that all the sudden, now that I'm on a diet and limited to 1200 calories a day.. keeps getting invited to go out to dinner or the movies or somewhere....where I have to sit here and try to PLAN what I'm going to eat ahead of time!!!... Oh and I don't eat ANY veggies...I know I'm a freak of nature....so my choices are limited to say the least! I'm on week 3 and this sucks...but I guess I just have to keep plugging away and keep the big picture in mind right?!

Learn to like veggies sweetie!!!!
Opt for non fried and less red meat
Most good restaurants have tons of salads, steamed veggies, brown rice, whole wheat nad rye breads.
Fish, chicken as well.....
You can do it, eating in or going out.,,,
I'm still learning!!!0 -

Yep-- do or do not-- there is no try. Keep your eye on the prize-- and all that jazz. :bigsmile:0 -
i REALLY REALLY don't want to sound rude, but if you want your weightloss to be permanent then you should not consider yourself as being on a diet, but going through a life change, to become a healthier new you. I just dont want to see you set yourself up to fail like i have done to myself manytimes. :flowerforyou:
as for eating out and going to the movies, i still do those things, you just have to work them in. the other night my DH and i went out to applebees for our wedding anniversary, with a little research on the web and a good workout, i was able to have a little appetizer, dinner PLUS dessert.
i really want this weightloss for me to be permanent, so i have to teach myself to balance it all out. i don't want to suffer and be on A DIET for the rest of my life, i still want to be healthy, and of course skinny, but i still want to live a fun life w/o being deprived. i hope this helps. :flowerforyou:0 -

I think you've only realized that all these occasions are more challenging because you are watching your intake. In the past, I wouldn't think twice about some of the garbage I ate at the movies, out with friends, etc. Now it's tougher but still doable. You should learn to love veggies because they fill you up without taking away too many calories!0

Eating out is going to happen so you might as well learn now what you should eat or not eat. This life style change is forever so I hope you this won't suck forever for you.
I don't eat a ton of veggies either but I manage to get by and still eat within my calories but I'm still working on not eating to many sweets.

If you notice, there are thin, healthy people eating in the same restaurant.
What are they eating? They likely worked out that day and burned 400-500 cals. They have a big salad or clear soup before their meal. Water as their beverage. 1 roll, 1 pat of butter.
Then their meal is steamed veggies, plain baked potato, and grilled fish or chicken.
Dessert includes some sort of sorbet or fruit. (not my favorite molten lava choc brownie)
I remember going out to eat and ordering mozzerlla sticks, salad with ranch or blue cheese dressing, 2-3 rolls, 3-4 pats of butter, rice (never know what they put in there, but guarateed it is butter!), no veggies, fried/buttered/stuffed something...or a 12 oz steak. No WONDER I gained 60 pounds!
It is all about changing your thought process on food. WOW..I will get off the soap box now, sorry! :flowerforyou:0 -

pretty good Eriny, and you? Looks like those 100 push ups have paid off! I am up to around 50. had to quit the challange cus my stupid ortho dr said it was hurting my neck. :grumble:
But I have improved tremendously.
How is texas these days?:flowerforyou:0 -
Thanks for all the comments  You guys are great! I didn't eat appetizers or desserts even before the "life change" or "diet" so that wasn't a problem (mainly cause I'm cheap and the price of those things are basically $5 or more!) ...and as for the veggies...I just can't do it...I WISH I could...I would LOVE to order a salad, and I have in the past, but I literally choke on the lettuce (I don't know maybe it's the texture or something)
As for Friday night-I went with the chicken finger basket and water in case anyone was wondering and only went over by 88 calories for the day...so guess who went for a walk that night! LOL  I love these boards so much fun to read!!!0 -
I get that! I just started my diet and had to volunteer at a high school consession stand for 3 hours, 3!!! There were Otis Spunkermeyer cookies, we had to bake them, from frozen cookie dough!, candy, pretzels, nachos, hot dogs, muffins, pizza, pop, you name it, we had it. I brought veggies and FF dip, that's all I ate, even while watching my daughter scarf cookies! It was hard, but I feel great for overcoming the temptations!!!0
