I got me a jump rope. I see on MFP it has three things for jump rope. Slow, moderate and fast.. Now how do you determine which is which... Is it so many jumps a minute.. help

Slow- Just leisure jumping...Not out to impress anyone, able to talk...just very simple type jumping

moderate-little more effort, not able to talk much, a little quicker but again, not trying to impress

fast-power roping...both feet leave the floor-lick double dutch but with just you...this one you wont carry on a conversation, you will be very winded..lots of effort and yes, your trying to impress people on this one.

In the class I teach, this is how we gauge the power... We go thru all levels... Its awesome cardio! Nice way to go, jump for 2 min @ low--Then do some strength or ab work(1min): then moderate for 2 min- then do another set of SAME strength or ab work)1min)-then 2 min HIGH-then just walk yourself out to bring your heart rate back down...NO MORE than 1 min on ANY of these "breaks"...Start over for 2 more rounds... Thats what we do in my cardio class. Just an idea for you, hope it helps a little.
