edited September 2024 in Introduce Yourself
I've been on MFP for 2 weeks now and now that I'm getting the hang of things, I thought I'd come introduce myself. My name's Missie - I'm 27 (28 in August - eek!), a wife, a mother of 2, and I have no time to exercise. Ok - that's not entirely true. But I have an insane schedule. I work Tuesday through Friday, 7 am to 6pm, and I have a 4 hour commute every day. So Saturday, Sunday and Monday - I am trying to clean up my house, spend time with my family, see my friends, and make sure I'm ready for the next crazy week at work.

After I had my son almost 6 years ago, I lost the baby weight really quickly. I even lost EXTRA! I didn't do much to do it - I would walk on my lunch breaks for up to 45 minutes with some girls at work, but that was it. I felt amazing - even though I wasn't at my goal weight. I wanted to lose more but never could. When I had my daughter in 2009, I thought the weight would just melt off again and if I lost the same amount of weight as with my son, I would've been at my goal weight. Well, here we are, almost 20 months later, and I've only lost HALF of the weight. I'm not even down to my pre-pregnancy weight yet!

2 weeks ago, my best friend finally convinced me to sign up for this site. I am so glad she did! Hey, that's what BFF's are for, right? I lost 5 pounds in my first week (water weight?) and 1 pound last week. I am working harder at finding "hidden" exercise so I can lose more weight but not feel like I'm always exercising.

I'd love to connect with people on the site! My hobbies are typically sit down ones (reading, crafting, graphic design) but I'm trying to incorporate more active ones (nature photography, hiking). I love the band Hanson, and collect Harry Potter memorabilia. I'm also a big Twilight fan (though not as huge as I once was) and love my volvo C30. My current addiction is reading Jane Austen books. I sell merchandise and graphic design services on etsy to make a little extra income, but it's slowed down significantly since my crazy new work schedule has started.

My goal is to get down to 130 pounds and/or a size 8 pants. I really don't care what my weight is as long as I can get out of double-digit pants! I've been down to 140 pounds and still wore a size 14/16 pants. I am oddly shaped, apparently. I'm hoping to do this by February. Wish me luck! And add me as a friend if we share some common interests :)

Hey there, we're practically neighbors. I live in Puyallup. Where the heck do you work that you commute four hours a day? My husband started a new job a few months ago, and he has a grueling commute too – Woodinville.

I live out in unincorporated pierce county and commute to Seattle every day. It's awful! But I love my job. Nothing but that would make me commute that far. ha!

I'm going on 33, I have 3 kiddos. I do graphic design with my hubby. I baby sit a lil boy right now from 7am to 6pm Mon-Fri. Soon I will also be watching his brother (once he is born). I love Twilight!! I used to live in WA state (Puyallup to be exact).

I make time for myself through out the day...even if it's just 50 jump-n-jacks and then 50 butt kicks here and there (a few times a day). I also lift weights (5lbs right now) while watching a movie or while my hubster plays CoD. I will do squats while I brush my teeth, then some push ups using my bed (I can't do the "real" ones) then some leg lifts while laying down.(I also go to the gym after my kiddos are in bed a few times a week.)

There is always time for YOU!! You just have to find it. Even if you just put some music on and dance around the house like a crazy fool (I do that often and the kiddos LOVE it :D) anything to get your blood pumpin' and your body movin'.

Good luck on your journey!! You can do anything, nothing is impossible!! :)
