Have been trying to work out which nuts have the least calories? As want to add some nuts to my daily allowance.
Anyone any ideas?

Wouldn't worry so much about the calories as nuts are high in GOOD fats and have lots of protein. Most are high cal so I'd say stick to ones you prefer and skip out on ones that have been salted or spiced as those have added salt and sometimes sugar.0

I eat lots of nuts and your question made me curious to know as well.

try almonds , they are the best for you0

I keep a pack of Dry Roasted Unsalted Peanuts at work to hold me over from eating junk. They are good for you, and it doesn't take a whole lot to make hunger feelings go away. =-)0

I would eat them in controlled amounts since they do have healthy fats and protein, but are high in calories. I eat a serving of nuts about 3-5 times a week, helps me get healthy fats in. The least calorific are probably pistachios since they are usually served in the shell.0

They are pretty much all high calorie, I *think* almonds are on the lower end. Cashews and Peanuts certainly are not (what I usually eat) but they are really good for you.0

I agree that almonds are the best to try. They are a little more expensive that other nuts, but it's worth it! Also, try to stick with whole natural almonds, avoiding added salt, chocolate covered, etc.0

don't worry about the calories, eat whatever nuts you like.0

I don't know the lowest, but macadamia are highest in fat & calories (naturally, my fave)0

All nuts are high calorie. Just eat small portions (weigh them!) of what you like best. I wouldn't say almonds are vastly superior over walnuts...just eat what you like.0

i think pistachios are supposed to be the lowest calorie, i believe they have the least amount of oil but i could be wrong. it could also be bias since i love me some pistachios!0

Buy pistachios in their shells. That way you have to work to get them
Almonds are my personal favorite.0 -
Almonds are the healthiest overall. I believe almonds are considered a "superfood" (love those marketing terms.) Pistachios (my personal favorite) are right up there, too.
Incidentally, peanuts aren't actually nuts, they're beans. Semantics, I know, but they are legumes.0 -
I eat almonds and also add flax seeds to my yogurts and cereals for added good fat.0
