So, My doctor put me on this diet last week. I bought some books to help me understand it and to get some recipe ideas.

I'm nervous about giving this thing a shot. I am spending this week learning about it before I have my next appointment monday. At which time, I will actually start eating the items in the books. until then, I'm slowly incorporating things into my daily diet to help prepare me.

Are any of you on this diet? if so, do you have any tips or recipes?

I do not do the full thing but many of the concepts I have incorporated. I think it is one of the smartest diets out there. Best of luck!

There are people on here who do this and feel great!!! If you don't watch calories you may not lose weight really quickly, but personally I don't think fast weight loss is really that healthy either.

This was the first website I found, the most informative too: http://www.oldwayspt.org/mediterranean-diet/med-diet-resources

I also went to the book store and bought the Complete Idiots Guide to the Mediterranean Diet... lots of info on how the foods work together and why it works, plus a whole MESS of recipes. I'm interested to try some foods I've never had before, like Eggplant!

I've been looking for a Mediterranean Diet too. Came across this site and printed off a bunch of info. Trying to figure out an appropriate carb/protein/fat ration for my calculator now.
