Switched calories deficit to 1/2lb/wk

Perhaps ease into it. Going from 2 lbs a week to 1/2 lb may be too big a jump for your body. Maybe switch to 1.5 lbs a week for a couple weeks, then to 1 lb, and so on.
But I agree...it's very trial and error since everyone loses weight differently. There's no one-size-fits-all approach.0
