Knee is out - should I Walk?

I am so bummed - I was doing really well with running 3-4 miles daily. I stupidly tried to go to twice a day and my knee gave out. I've had two surgeries on it in the past and should have known better. My question now is; will walking for exercise hinder the recovery of my knee?
I am also considering riding a bike but if it would be better to not do any exercise at all and let the knee heal I would do that?
Any help is appreciated.

try not to run everyday. i am training for a marathon and only run 3 or 4 days a week. you HAVE to rest!!! this is probably why you are having pain....

i would say, completely rest for a few days until the pain subsides.... then ease back into walking.... maybe biking.

I would say that keeping it slightly active would be best. Right before the school year was over (weekend before finals X_X) I tore the ligaments in my ankle and chipped a bone when I rolled it (completely 90 degrees inwards) and had to go to the doctor. He did not cast me up or put me in a brace even with all the damage. Instead he put it in an Air Cast so I could walk on it. He said the more I moved it the strong it would heal.

So sorry about your knee...I completely tore my ACL last year and walked around for 4 months before it was finally diagnosed...Before and after my surgery, my surgeon encouraged me to walk on the elliptical...Much better than just walking on the ground because there is no impact...Good luck as you heal.... :flowerforyou:
