Ok so I was reading the following article
http://uk.health.lifestyle.yahoo.net/Dieting-unlikely-to-make-fat-people-slim-say-experts.htm
What do you guys think?
I would agree that just dieting won't keep you slim, and that you need to change your lifestyle to keep up and maintain the weightloss.
Seriously does it take scientists to make people realise this??

For me, Diets take all the credit when things go well then none of the blame when things go wrong. They are there to make money with the side effect of the odd person losing weight and keeping it off.

And even with scientists, people still don't realize it...

Diets steal your hardworking money, and are usually temporary fixes. When people post messages like, "I've been on MFP for a week, and only lost a pound," I know they're in the diet mode. It's hard to help these people cross the bridge into "It's a way of life" mode because the majority of them are thick headed.

Yes. I think many people really are too dumb to get it.

Edited to add - but a lot of people do get it, but can't get round to making that lifestyle choice for one reason or another.

I loss is a loss thats what I say, if you are dedicated you will carry on if you stay the same lose a lbs or put on a lbs.
The thing I have come to realise is that it will take time and dedication to get to where you want to be, like everything in life it won't be handed to you.

Diets work for the people who create them ... as in, they make money off gullible, lazy people who are looking for a temporary solution to a permanent problem.

I know some really smart people who've lost a lot of weight, yet they don't seem to understand that being newly thin does not mean it's okay to start eating junk food again. And then they sit around and complain daily about how their size 6 jeans don't fit anymore.
