you to lose the workout endurance you've built up? today was my first day to the gym in about a week and a half, and i just bailed from my class - i was floored and left halfway through! granted, it was an instructor i had never been to before, and no only was she *crazy* energetic, she also used dances i had never done, so my brain was baffled too. but, man! i did not expect to only make it through half a zumba class after a 10 day sabbatical, but i guess that how it rolls. what about you? anyone go through this? is it going to take a million years for my endurance to bounce back up? sheesh!

i think some instructors are more "energetic" than others, i guess thats why they have several. I have had some that were workout beast and others who were more my style. Dont feel bad about leaving, i think as pounds come off, you gain more energy. I feel alot better after 20 lbs gone, i can really feel it.

Not sure on cardio/endurance but for resistance adaptations it's around 72 hours - if you don't work that muscle again the body decides that it doesn't really need to keep the changes you asked it to make so starts letting the muscle 'detrain'.

Don't feel bad. I was the same way when I got back from my workshop, where for 2 weeks I did nothing but very short sessions of cardio but no strength training. My first weight class after I got back, I couldn't lift as much as usual, seemed to have no muscle endurance and was wimping out on everything. After just a week, I already feel like I'm getting my strength back. You're young and in good shape -- you'll bounce back quickly. :-)

I find that if I go more than one day without my cardio on the elliptical I am worthless in the energy department...I only allow myself one day off per week, and that is on Sunday...Good luck with your journey... :flowerforyou:
