New- only looking for a little weight loss

Hi all,
I'm Jen, been tracking my food on here for a week now, it's sooo handy! I've learnt a lot already about what i eat, and have already discovered that although my meals are ok, my little snacks really add up! It's good to see which foods give plenty of protein.
I'm only trying to lose a few pounds, my weight is actually ok (5'5'', 120lbs starting, don't hate me...) but I have a big belly!! always have, my parents do too. ab workouts don't seem to shift it. Having read a few posts here i think the problem may be my sweet tooth, I see sugar is related to belly fat. This will be hard, I can cut down, but really need the fruit as I am a veggie, restricted enough as it is! I don't like to substitute fake-sweetened things as they seem bad for you. I mostly follow the blood type diet (A) drinking lots of water and green tea, no meat, plenty of lentils/beans, and NO WHEAT- helps against bloating.
I do a little yoga/pilates, occasional weights, and walking, although it's 40c here, and humid, so not so much on the walking at the moment.
I'm getting married at the end of sept in Cyprus and would dearly love a flat belly in my bikini (and in my wedding dress too!). I'm loving the progress pics every posts, some amazing results.
So that's it. any handy hints would be welcome!

hey jen,
from what i've learned so far, (1) there's no way to focus fat loss on any specific area, (2) ab workouts won't reduce the fat there, but they'll build up the muscle that's hidden under the fat, and (3) do LOTS of cardio each and every day between now and the end of time to lose weight, i think 20 minutes is the MINIMUM to do and make it moderate-to-intense, like jogging or cycling or swimming. hey, if it's hot, jumping into a pool and swimming for 30-60min should actually be enjoyable!

Thanks everyone! Gerodonnell- I have been gluten (and wheat) free for a year now, the main benefit is my digestion, Greg- I'm sorry to hear that, because I get too scrawny everywhere else before the belly fat starts to go!! I will take your advice and increase the cardio, I have a spinning bike, so i don't need to go outside in the heat0

Good luck to you! I am also looking for a little weight loss. If only we could just zap it away in certain areas that would be great! Congratulations on your soon to be wedding. I am sure with enough motivation you will have the beach body in no time!0

I have the exact same problem re: tummy.
I've always had a small frame and been technically "skinny", but I just can't shift the jelly belly!
I'm brand new on here so I'm on the lookout for friends to motivate me and share advice/tips/experience with. Feel free to friend me!xox0
