NSV - New Clarity

So I've been on and off the healthy-eating wagon since the first of the year... There's a part of my brain that just doesn't want to deal with the fact that I need to exercise and eat healthfully in order to be at my best.
When July rolled around, I was totally OFF the wagon, feeling sluggish and annoyed with myself for letting half a year go by with no real change. So I started back slowly, aiming for a high-raw, high-vegan diet (what I know from past experience works for me) and daily exercise. Not really tracking at first, and keeping quiet about it so I didn't feel pressured and didn't want to rebel.
I've observed something: when I'm "working the program" -- getting my exercise, having green juice, fruit, big veggie salads, etc. -- I get stuff DONE. My head is clear, my heart is happier and I don't feel icky, bloated and slothful.
The second I stop? Everything else in my life comes to a screeching halt.
I have learned my lesson!
This isn't just about losing weight anymore -- it's about being my best in all parts of my life. I generally love chaos and thrive on variety, but my diet and exercise are no longer things I can be flexible about. Doing them less than 100% means I suffer everywhere else the next day, and that's just not worth it.
I'd love to say I'm never going to forget this lesson, but I'm not naive enough for that. Still, I feel like I've turned a corner, and I'm writing it down to come back to when I forget.
