Bulking help..

Hello. Who else is bulking?
I just recently got off a "cut". I was cutting at around 1300 - 1500 calories. I am now wanting to bulk up and gain some muscle mass. A bulking calculator suggested that I consume around 2800 calories / day. However, I think that's a pretty high number to start off at since I just got off of a cut. So, I did a trial and error thing for a week. I consumed 2000 calories / day which is a 500 calorie bump from my cut.
Yes, 2000 calories / day for bulking is very low. That's around my maintenance calories / day. However, I seemed to gain 1 lb during that test of 2000 calories / day? I understand that you should gain about .5 to 1 lb a week. Should I bump up my calories now to around 2800 or just gradually bump it up and how often should I bump it up? Any tips and advice would be great! Thanks in advance!
Also, I understand how much protein, carbs, and fats I should consume a day. It's just I am not quite sure on how much calories / day should I consume.
