Exercising whilest ill

Does running or exercising while ill with the Flu/cold, effect the body differently?

    i think the general rule is , if the cold is above your neck (ie, head cold) then you may exercise and it wont have any negative effects. you might even feel better (although if you go to the gym the people around you might not lol)
    anything where you have pain underneath your neck, like a stomachache or the flu, rest is ESSENTIAL

    Yeah, if it's just a cold, you can work out. I typically still go when I'm sick, hoping I sweat out some of the toxins of the sickness. I usually can't run though 'cause I'll be short of breath... definitely don't go if it's the flu, but if it's a cold, you should be fine.

    its a no no with a fever, that can have serious effects, after that if you feel up to it do some but go easy. listen to your body and make sure you have plenty of fluids
  • if you dont feel good why would you want to push your body while it's trying to heal? youll just stay sicker longer...and who the heck feels like moving off the couch when they have the flu anyways?
