So I am kinda new to this site, looking to get any tips from anyone to help me on my journey! Thanks

    Hi back and welcome!!!!

    Ok, I have lots of tips - hope I don't overwhelm you:

    -Make small changes maybe just one a week so you aren't changing everything at once but work towards these goals...

    -Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day or more
    - Don't drink ANY soda
    -Stay away from artificial sweeteners
    -Eat 26 grams of fiber or more a day
    - no more than 10% of your caloric intake from sugar - track it in your diary
    - Keep sodium under 1500 mg/day
    -Eat a clean balanced diet - this includes eating about 1 gram of protein per pound of lean body mass - I like my macros at 40% carbs, 30% fat and 30% protein http://www.extremely-fit.com/fitness-tips/2011/01/8week-transition-diet/
    - Try to eat "healthy fats" - fish, olives, nuts and their related oils.
    -Lift HEAVY weights to conserve your muscles as you lose or develop svelte, sexy new ones! (lift at least 3x week) http://www.answerfitness.com/150/full-body-workout-plan-workout-routines/

    Um, I think that's about it in a nut shell. This is what I've learned in 6 months condensed in a few bullets. :D

    Thank you! So I should do both cardio and weights even though I am just starting? Or should I just stick to cardio and just do one thing ex: treadmill, bike, etc?
