How does the food tracker work?

Hi All,
I'm new to the whole tracking food concept and am really surprised that the food tracker says I need to eat more. I am on a plan from my dr to eat six small meals a day and track what I eat. She also said to try to maintain 1,200 calories but it looks like with the physical activity I do..which trust me isn't much...the food tracker says I need to increase or my body will go into starvation mode. Anyone have any advise or insight as to what I should do?? I am so confused

MFP recommends eating back the calories that you burn from exercise. Everyone is different, what works for some might not work for others. You just gotta see what works for you. Good luck!

1200 should be right around the line for starvation mode. So that warning keeps popping up until you pass the line.
(even if your 1 calorie shy).
By the way, starvation mode just means your metabolism slows a bit.
It shouldn't make you gain weight.(from the research I've read on it)0
