Touring Caravan!! (UK)

Hi Peeps!

We are seriously thinking about getting a caravan so we can take the family away on lots of short mini breaks. However we no nothing!!! Anyone from the UK who is an owner or was an owner and would like to share some well needed tips on getting one?

As a kid we used to go for a week in the caravan every year to st. andrews. We took the bikes and rode all over the place, it was great. It's definitely a good idea! As for what to get, I have no idea, but it will depend on what you are driving and how much it can tow.

I have never had one but I do have relatives that have had one and also relative that have a camper van...caravan and motor home owners get a bit of a bad image in the media but I actually envy their ability to just decide to go somewhere on the spur of the moment...the folk i know with them are forever on the go!

I can't advise what to get etc as I have no idea of your circumstances but personally i'd go for something with more berths than you need to get that little extra room should the weather ever be against you, also invest in the best awning you can, doubles your living space.
