Hi All
Can you please give me some of your opinions on which of the below would be the "better" breakfast....?
Sultana Bran (40g with 100ml of semi skimmed milk)
Tropicana OJ, (200ml)
Totals - Cals 273, Carbs 50, Fat 2, Sat Fat 1, Protein 9
Scrambled Egg on Wholemeal toast (1 whole egg, 10ml semi skimmed milk)
Tropicans OJ (200ml)
Totals - Cals 321, Carbs 40, Fat 9, Sat Fat 2, Protein 15
All opinions appreciated :-)

egg on toast with OJ.
I can always go longer after eating an egg than i can with most other breakfasts.
Both are good though. Youd be fine to mix it up0 -
I'd go for the 2nd option, less carbs, more protein and more calories to keep you fuller for longer0
-
the second. The higher fat and higher protein will keep you feeling full WAY longer than the one with all the carbs, which your body burns through much quicker. I would even trade the OJ for milk or coffee, the OJ is pretty much empty calories and sugar. eat actual fruit and drink water instead. Juice has way less nutrients than whole fruits.
But if we're talking "as is", then definitely the second one.0 -
I would go for the first as I find cereal filling and eggs not so much nor bread0

Just been discussing something similar! I find if I have a cooked breakfast I feel fuller for longer. It also feels naughty so it helps make me stay good for the rest of the day! I can have a nice cooked breakfast for 300 cals or less depending what I have but usually I have low fat bacon medallions, low fat sausage, mushrooms and tomatoes, sometimes I have a boiled egg too. Feels like I've consumed double the cals and tastes so much nicer than a boring bowl of cereal or a banana! lol0

I would cut out the bread and oj and just have eggs with some meat orma glass of milk0
-
id keep the Oj if you enjoy it. A glass a day helps to keep you regular, although maybe swap it for an actual orange if youve got time, cos it would have more fibre0
-
Have you considered porridge with dried fruit also? That keeps me full until lunch time0
-
I personally don't like carbs in the morning spikes the blood sugars to much, I stick with protein and fats, nuts, eggs, pb, meats0

Deffo option 2. Also agree about dropping the OJ for tea of coffee. I 2 scrambled eggs with a rasher of bacon and pot of coffee on the side for breakfast. works out at about 350 calories.0
-
I like the second one better0
-
Second one for me definitely - although I skip the bread and scramble 2 eggs with a splash of milk, half a chopped fresh tomato and a bit of feta (or whatever you like) cheese.
Agree with the tropicana idea - empty calories really.0
