Feeling a bit demoralized

I've been feeling a bit down the past couple weeks and It's really been reflected in my eating and lack of motivation.
I've been noticing myself gaining weight and that's kind of just been fueling my bad eating choices.
Looking for tips on regrouping and getting back on the right foot.

You have to just do it!!! You cant let a couple numbers on the scale and a couple bad food choices ruin everything you have done here. Think back to when you were on the right track and you seen the numbers go down and how much of a rush that was to see. Now make this like your drug that you are itching for!! The want the neeeeed to feel amazing like that again. Everytime you feel down or make a bad eating choice think about that. Then at least make ONE good choice to start then another and another each day. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! =0)0

I can relate! That emotional eating is what has me here, as well. Just look forward, and not back! It's all that you can control anyway. If we can just convince ourselves that eating won't solve the problem or resolve the issue. Maybe plan on doing a substitute activity that will soothe/comfort you?0

I kinda think it's a spiritual thing. There's a lot more beneath the surface than just dieting & working out & emotional eating etc. etc. I always find that I get back on track ONLY when I take the time to go deeper into Spirit and replenish myself there.0

I know exactly how you feel! What I find works best for me is to give myself permission to wallow and eat poorly for a set amount of time: a meal, a day, until my period's over--whatever. Once that time's elapsed, I refuse to feel guilty for those poor choices and just start fresh. I don't look at it as a failure, but a break. We all need breaks once it a while, and it's much easier to get back on track if you don't tear yourself up for being human.0

look for the labor day challenge - 10 lbs by labor day?0

Keep remembering the reasons why you want to lose weight and know that you have a choice to eat well & exercise and one day meet your goal or the other choice will be to stay the way you are or go backwards. Unfortunately we can't have both. That is what I tell myself. Just hang in there0

I've been feeling a bit down as well lately, so I'm been trying to find the cause and change things! I realized I need more personal fufillment so I emailed Big-Brothers-Big-Sisters and the humane society to learn about their volunteer opportunities. Also, I know that seeing things in black and white and having to write them down helps me with accountability so I made a chart that tracks every day until December where I write down my calories, my weight, and whether I exercised. Other things that may help is finding someone to talk to, having a good cry, or watching some inspirational weight loss videos on you-tube or weight watchers. Hope some of these ideas help!0

I actually found this one this morning after posting on this thread...so in case you dont read my quotes of the day I am going to add it to this thread. Because it is what you must do! =0)
Bend, but Don't Break
One of my fondest memories as a child is going by the river and sitting idly on the bank. There I would enjoy the peace and quiet, watch the water rush downstream, and listen to the chirps of birds and the rustling of leaves in the trees. I would also watch the bamboo trees bend under pressure from the wind and watch them return gracefully to their upright or original position after the wind had died down.
When I think about the bamboo tree's ability to bounce back or return to it's original position, the word resilience comes to mind. When used in reference to a person this word means the ability to readily recover from shock, depression or any other situation that stretches the limits of a person's emotions.
Have you ever felt like you are about to snap? Have you ever felt like you are at your breaking point? Thankfully, you have survived the experience to live to talk about it.
During the experience you probably felt a mix of emotions that threatened your health. You felt emotionally drained, mentally exhausted and you most likely endured unpleasant physical symptoms.
Life is a mixture of good times and bad times, happy moments and unhappy moments. The next time you are experiencing one of those bad times or unhappy moments that take you close to your breaking point, bend but don't break. Try your best not to let the situation get the best of you.
A measure of hope will take you through the unpleasant ordeal. With hope for a better tomorrow or a better situation, things may not be as bad as they seem to be. The unpleasant ordeal may be easier to deal with if the end result is worth having.
If the going gets tough and you are at your breaking point, show resilience. Like the bamboo tree, bend, but don't break0 -
You know what? We're ALL allowed to have bad weeks. Give yourself a cut off. I had a really rough couple of weeks (death in the family, strep throat, etc.) and got way off track. I threw in the towel and said "I'll get back on the bandwagon Monday". And I did. Yesterday I stayed under my calorie goal and made it to the gym for 45 minutes. It felt REALLY good to be back on track, but I really need a few days to just say "eff it".
Rest, relax, and plan your next move. Decide what day you're going to get back in the gym, and back on track with the eating. Hell, try that bikini on, it may help you find your motivation0 -
Thank you everyone. You are all too kind!
I know I'm resilient, I just have to plan my next move and JUST DO IT
You've all really helped, thank you!0 -
