i just started the couch to 5 Km program (c25k). I hate running (except for the stopping running part, that feels awesome) but I'm hoping this will help me like it more, as running doesn't require gym membership, and can be done pretty much anytime. The program is at coolrunning.com, or you can Google 'couch to 5k'. I think it's an 8 or 9 week program (3 times a week), and starts out with 20 minute walk/run cycles- I am on week 1, workout 2. Might be a good way to start?

yes couch to 5K is perfect for beginners. YOu really need the right shoes too so take a pair of old shoes to a running store so they can see how you strike the ground and so they can look at your gait. Right shoes is key!

Hi! Start of slow, dont try and do too much too fast. Start with the c25k program and build from there.

Feel free to add me, I love running and am always open to chatting :)

    Good Luck!

Check out your local running store to see if they have an Academy Running Program. It is perfect for those wanting to run with others in a group setting. Interval running is a Must. This running program, starts you out slow: Run 1 minute walk 5 minutes: 1:5 for 30 minutes; then each week it increases by 1 minute as well as mileage by week five you will be running 5 minutes walking 1 minute for recovery and your covering 3+ miles at best, you would be ready for a 5K. Good luck and Happy Running! Ciao

You have GOT to do Couch to 5K. It's the best way to get into running ever.
