So, I love unsweetened tea. Always have, and its perfect for summer time. But, here is the good news you can do it with you favorite flavor of hot tea!

I just take my smaller pot and fill it with water, boil the water with the tea bag in it. Once it starts to boil a little I turn it off and let it seep for a few minutes. Then dump it in a pitcher and fill the rest with water, and serve it over ice. Yum Yum. Helps me get my water in for the day!

I just fill a pitcher with water, dump in some loose leaf tea and put it in the fridge for an hour or two or more. It produces a nice light flavored tea.

That's a great idea except for the fact that the caffeine in tea sort of counteracts the effects of water. ...just saying. I would hate for you to count that as water when technically it isn't. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. :frown:

Yeah, I was waiting for someone to say that it's not counted towards your water intake.

Personally... for me..... if I don't add any sugar to my tea or coffee, it goes to my water intake. I can't just drink plain water. And I dont want to keep having to buy crystal lites so I can get my water intake.

So, I'm with you on the tea! :) thanks for sharing!!!

Not to worry! There's always decaf! (I know.. it's like drinking non-alcoholic beer.) I HAVE to have my cup of coffee on the daily, but I always drink an extra cup of water per day to make up for it.

I think the dehydrating effects of caffeine are really overstated by a lot of folks!

Yes... it is true that the caffeine in tea is a diuretic *BUT* it is not a strong enough diuretic to undo the hydration provided by all the water in tea (or coffee, for that matter)

A big glass of iced tea still helps you stay hydrated even with the caffeine.

I'm a college student, who works full time and goes to grad school full time. Starbucks latte's were my best friend, I could give you my order if you want. We ended our relationship. I'm okay with it! But, man do I miss that extra kick while writing my papers! However, I was always in the bathroom with in the hour AND right after that pick me up, I went low low low!
  • I make green/herbal peach sun tea every week. It sustains me and is so so yummy. I am a country girl at heart.
