I'm new to the site and I want to log my exercise, but I can't figure out what to put. I did Ripped in 30, level one. It's not in the database of exercises. What should I count it as?

Thanks for any help!

Most ppl log it under circuit training unless of course you have a heart rate monitor :)

Well I always put it in as circuit training. I would definitely recommend a heart rate monitor if it is within your means to purchase one. My heart rate monitor with the chest strap gave me a much better picture of the calories I burned doing 30DS, which ended up being much more than MFP estimated!

I would do circuit training for that one. I dont' really have money to get a heart rate moniter or else that would be a good idea but I just log it as whatever I think it's closest so at last I get a rough idea of what I'm burning.

^^ I know on SparkPeople putting Insanity in would be around 350 calories but people were finding they were burning more like 600 calories or so. I would just put the activity in but then up the calories a bit even though I didn't have a HRM but at least it was a bit closer to accurate because I always thought it seemed pretty low...

e.g. Zumba I enter as dancing, Turbo Jam as arobics and I use the calories burnt which my heart rate monitor watch shows, e.g. even when I did 1 hour of Zumba which would be normally around 600 to 800 calories, I am not fit enough yet and do a lot low impact and slower and I only burn 200 calories, or walk at home normally 30 min 5 mph gives way more calories burnt in MFP than my heart rate monitor shows, because my metabolism isn't working that great ... yet...
Or you could use a Heart rate monitor, create your own exercise, name it Ripped in 30 and enter the accurate time and calories, those are the possibilities I know of what you could do, hope that helped.
