Thinking of starting turbofire

I read the website for turbofire and I still have a couple of questions, so I thought I'd get on here and ask those of you who have tried it.

Mostly I'm wondering if it works well on it's own, or if I should be doing it in conjunction with something else. From what I can tell it seems to be mostly cardio, so should I be doing my own strength training on the side? I'm not looking to become a major athlete, but I don't want to burn all my muscle by overdoing cardio and not enough strength training.

The other thing I'm wondering is if it requires any extra equipment, i.e. weights, resistance band, whatever.

Thanks for any help!

There is some sculpt in the workouts but depending on how much you want to work with weights to tone...you can try Cha-Lean extreme that has cardio and weights...just a thought. But TF, is a really good cardio based workout that if you push play, everyday....you will see results.

It comes with the bands to do the sculpt and core work...
  • I just started TF about a week ago and so far I really like it.

I will be doing strength training (I use hand weights at home and have a few circuits that I use) in addition to TF. I just feel like I need to do that because I like the way strength training makes me feel. TF really does work your core and back muscles, though, so I feel like I don't have to do too much of that in addition to the videos.

I have a fair amount of weight to lose, so I don't mind working out twice a day. All in all, TF is a fun way to start my day and I am already seeing results as far as my endurance goes.

I would recommend trying it out. The TF/ChaLean Extreme hybrid that a lot of people use is a good idea to incorporate both programs, thereby increasing the strength training vs. a straight TF schedule. I just can't afford to buy ChX yet.
  • I just started the TF/CLX hybrid. I've read about and seen amazing results for TurboFire, but that th hybrid is really popular with people who were doing CLX and then missed the strength training when they went to TF. If you really push it with the stretch exercise, you will have some muscle toning as that is mostly yoga for building strength and flexibility, but it will build the muscles differently than with a lifting program like CLX or one of your own. neither will bulk you up, but it just is a different look to the muscles.
