How to join a team or challenge

Hi, I'm new to this site and this answer has probably been answered before, but how do I got about joining a team or a challenge? Where do I find these challenges and teams? Anyhelp would be great. Thanks.

    some of the team ones will have a person "leading" them, keeping track of things. A lot of the challenges though are for individuals! Feel free to just jump in!
