Really want to binge--chewing gum instead?

I'm currently in the process of packing up my apartment. I'm really overwhelmed and really stressed out and want nothing more than to eat an entire bag of cinnamon sugar pita chips. I exercised earlier today and that helped, but I can't seem to get working on packing again. Trying to chew gum in hopes that it'll give my mouth something to do and I can bypass the urge to binge eat.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? I figured if I posted, I wouldn't be as tempted to eat...

Actually, I was doing that yesterday. Instead of eating sweets, I had a stick of gum instead. Kept me from eating until dinnertime.
  • Try brushing your teeth, I heard this tip once and it works. It seems to help take the craving away because who wants to eat immediately after you've brushed your teeth? And by the time the freshly brushed feeling wears off, the craving will hopefully have passed. It's not a 100% solution, but worth a try and sometimes does work.
  • I work midnights and have weird cravings at night. I chew alot of gum and it really helps! I also have a hot cup of coffee, because you have to drink it slow and it distracts you from cravings and tummy rumbles.

I will eat a pack of gum, isn't that disgusting! At least it is only like 50 calories instead of 500 in ice cream and other BS I would eat. Still gross lol

There is some dessert gum made by... well.. I forget who. , but anyway, the one that's mint chocolate chip is AWESOME and takes me naughty cravings away.
