Mine is that I HATE wasting food and when my kids don't eat all of thier food. I feel compelled to eat at least some of what is left. usually not enough to save for leftovers but hate to put in the trash..........

Now that I have OWNED this, time to let go...........

What is yours?

I'm also a leftover eater. I just hate throwing food away. But I have tried to be more careful not to have leftovers and ... I have decided that I would rather have the food go to waste and not to my waist.:flowerforyou:

One of the best tips: switch your plates to 9 inch plates. Most people have 13 inch plates in their home. If a 9 inch plate is full, and you eat it all, your brain unconsciously thinks it's "full". Also, smaller plates will leave less leftovers for kids.

I eat way too fast. I usually eat my meal in less that 15 minutes. I am trying to learn to slow down & enjoy my food but it's a conscience effort.

This is absolutely true! also smaller bowls for cereal, etc. really work.

I've learned to put just enough food on my kids plate but sometimes I pick at the food I'm preparing for the children (it's not even food I eat). That's where the calories add up.

Another habit is using gummy bears as comfort food.

This! I have overcome it by making the kids scrap their own plates before putting them in the sink. They are also responsible for putting away all the leftovers after dinner.

And I like a snack while I am at the grocery store. Last week was the first week I did not even think about grabbing a donut while I shopped.

I used to be very guilty of this. The way I'm working to overcome it is that eating it myself when it don't need it is the same as throwing it away,, and I am not a trash can.

My worst habit? Eating when I'm stressed out or frustrated.

My worst habit is how I love to justify anything to myself. I can talk myself into and out of anything and come up with what I think are great reasons for it. TERRIBLE! I have to keep telling myself...this kind of thinking and justifying got me to where I am...its going to take different behaviour/thinking for me to change!

15 minutes, to me would be way too long to eat a meal. Unless you're out or something that seems like a really long time to finish a meal. IMO anyways :P

My worst habit is being unintentionally a jerk. In turn making people think Im actually one, Im no white knight or anything but still.

Swerving my truck to run over kittens and midgets.

You need to play more MarioKart. You learn to swerve to miss banana peels and turtle shells, whil purposefully hittiing Yoshi and princesses.

try hugging the bears instead of eating them. they're your friends.

I was guilty of the leftover habit and now that it's just my husband and I, I hate to throw away the leftovers and instead end of eating them for snacks but mostly I make another meal if I can so as not to waste the food. Creating a whole new meal with leftovers though takes some finessing. My husband is NOT a fan of leftovers so I have to get creative. I have been using the smaller plate and it works wonderfully! Very conscientious now of second helpings too since entering food into MFP! I cannot believe how many unconsciousness calories I ate. It's shocking!
