A bit of guidance needed!

Could anyone give me a bit of guidance on how much of what exercise to do and when? I'm feeling a bit lost!

I started running a few weeks ago, and built myself up to about 1 1/2 miles (an improvement from the tiny 2 minute run I started off with in the beginning!) and got so over excited, I did it too often and injured my knee. It's much better now and I'm hoping to go again next week.

Since then though I've been doing 2 Exercise DVDs on alternate days - Tracy Andersons Post Pregnancy Workout & 10 minute solution - Blast Belly Fat which are about 30 mins long. I then bought a pair of 6kg dumbells and have used them every other day for 2 weeks now for about 10 - 15 minutes on various arm exercises (minus squats etc because of my knees).

I'm now feeling a bit overwhelmed with how much I should do, and on what days? Is there anyone who could advise me?

Do as much as you feel comfortable with.

I never have more than 30-45 min a day to workout so that's what I do. I also am not a rigid scheduler.

My week looks something like this right now.

C25k (couch to 5k) for running- Mon, Wed, Fri,
    Biking, Tues, Thurs, Sun.

Saturday is my "rest day" but I usually do something anyhow. Just something easier or fun.

Weights on 4/5 days a week, which ones depends on my time frame for about half an hour, I go by the reps and to get through my routine more than the clock for that. I usually do it watching the News and Jeopardy LOL.

You should have one rest day a week, that doesn't mean you must do nothing but it means to rest the muscles you have been using most. I admit I don't always take one but I do less on that day, maybe it's just a walk with the hubby in the evening instead of running etc. So my schedule doesn't always look like that either

You don't NEED to work out 3526 hours a day to lose weight and be fit :D So do what works for you and your schedule.
