Some advice, please.........

My husband is in the military and tomorrow night is his unit's ball. We live about 45 minutes away from post, where the ball is being held. I don't function well without my morning work out, but I can't wash my hair due to having a style appointment to get my hair done for said ball. Do I skip my workout or just rinse my hair well before my hair appointment? The other issue is dinner. They are serving dinner, but I have no clue what, the options my husband was given were: chicken, pork, and vegetarian. He chose chicken. If I skip my workout I know I'll be over calories.

Can you do a workout that doesn't make you sweat overly? My upperbody strength training day usually doesn't make me sweat too badly.0

It's a one off occassion, do your workout, rinse your hair well, eat whatever is ordered and thoroughly enjoy your evening x0

Do your work out. Your hair will actually stay in it's style better if it is unwashed. Weird I know, but something I learned from my hair dresser.0

I'm a hairstylist and I know they say dirty hair works best for hairstyles, but seriouly I wash the hair and use more product its better to have clean hair then greasy the night of your occasion! Do a light workout, eat light at the ball.. skip dessert, go with chicken or pork. It's a special occasion have fun and relax-- one night wont kill you!0

just wake up and go workout a little early...better to do it and not feel bad about missing it later. I used to workout in the morning but im such an anti morning person it just got rough for me.. plus my work hours are really odd so i cant do it the same time every morning, Hope this helps Good luck0

Are you saying that you will need to work out after your hair appointment? I can't see a problem with working out before the hair appointment.0 -

I think if you can do some kind of workout, you will feel better. If rinsing your hair will be acceptable to your stylist, go for it! You can still make relatively good choices at dinner. Enjoy the special time
and really hit the workout harder the next day. Just don't use it as an excuse for going wild. If we are serious about this, these management issues will come up regularly, so we might as well practice! :drinker:0 -
My thought was having the stylist wash your hair at the appointment - but I know some places charge extra for that, now, so it may not be a feasible option. o.o;;
For me, I skipped my workout on the day of my cousin's wedding - I'd had my hair curled the night before. Instead, I went out for a walk with my mother (pushed my toddler in a stroller), and counted the dancing at the wedding as exercise. ^_^0 -
enjoy the day over indulge a little record the food and then over the next 7 days eat a 100 cals less and excersise 10% more each day they will counteract the extra cals and lack of excercise allways remember it is not a daily count it can be weekly or monthly i did extra workouts this week for a naughty kfc friday

Maybe just go for a walk or do a lighter workout? As far as the dinner - maybe eat 1/2 - 3/4 the portion? Have a great time; it's one night and a special occasion! Enjoy yourself!0

I do one of two things when I can't wash my hair and it's gross from a workout...
1) put baby powder in it after I'm done, it absorbs the mositure.

call the stylist and ask them about sweat. Other than that, enjoy (moderately) and don't sweat going over one night. There will be other nights you don't get it perfect. Trick is to be good most of the time.0

I'd call my hair stylist to find out what they think for sure. It kind of depends on what type of hair you have...
Mine isn't too greasy (takes about a day and a half to get there). When I go to the gym during a work-day, I don't wash it, even if it is quite wet with sweat - I just dry it and spray on some of that Tresseme freshening stuff. I don't wash it until the next morning and it's just barely getting greasy at that point.
If your hair is like that, I would think you'd be ok to just rinse it before your hair appointment, but like I said, check with your stylist to be certain.0 -

I'd think dancing at the ball would definately be cardio!! If you must to something that morning, just do something light, and wash your hair quickly after. However, I would also think the salon could wash it for you. Dirty hair (i.e. not washed that day) is better for coloring and perms, but not for an updo.

When you're going in to get your hair "done", most stylists will tell you not to wash it because dirty hair holds style better. She's not just talking about going in to get it washed, cut and dried, she's talking about getting an updo or something like that for the party she's going to later.0 -

I know I can work out BEFORE my appointment. No, they don't wash it first, I was told to come to the appointment with clean, dry hair, but I've been told in the past to have dry hair, that hasn't been washed.0
