Thanks for posting!0 -
Does the calorie count include or exclude the fruit? If using liquid egg whites, how much do you think I should use? Thanks!0

How can it be 140 calories when 1/2 cup of oatmeal is 150 calories? Just curious......I guess the 140 doesn't include the fruit? Thanks!1

Thanks for sharing! I think I'll make a batch of these tonight.0

not sure. found it on bodybuilding.com ... maybe there is 2 servings in it. but in the article it says 10 -
I made them tonight and they were yummy! I did alter the calorie count though.....added more splenda and cinnamon before cooking...and sugar free vanilla syrup......very tasty!! I counted it as 450 calories.....0

Please everyone enter this into your recipe builder before counting it as 140 calories...it is entirely inaccurate. If using quaker rolled oats, it would be 300 calories for the oats alone, plus another 102-136 for the egg whites (depending on how many you use), plus however much for your choice of fruit (1/2c blueberries is about 40 calories). I don't use fake sweeteners so I have no idea if truvia or stevia or splenda has any calories, but if they do then those would be included as well. With just the egg whites + oats + berries, it would be at least 450 for the entire batch. Without fruit, it's still over 400 calories for the batch...a far cry from 140 that the article claims.
For reference, this is where the OP got it (it's listed about 2/3rds of the way down the page):

I made these tonight using Splenda w/ Fiber and a banana. Using the recipe calculator and cutting the pan into 8 bars, they are 80 calories a piece... 640 calories for the whole batch. I haven't tried them yet, but I can't imagine eating the whole batch in one sitting.0

Would it taste bizarre if I added chocolate protein powder and a banana?0
-
I think it would taste great! I finally ate one of the ones I made, which had banana in it, and it was great! I used Splenda and mixed a tsp of cinnamon in, and I thought it could stand to be sweeter. I'm sure the chocolate would be yummy, and the extra protein is always a plus.0

I might give this a try with protein powder instead of a sweetener since that is what I use in my oatmeal anyway. I don't know if I could eat an entire cup of oatmeal in one sitting, though. I might try to make half a batch and see what happens.0

I will experiement with this today! Thanks for posting!
(BTW- In response to a previous post, Truvia (which is Stevia packets) and Stevia are not "fake sweetners" in the same category as Splenda. Stevia is a plant based natural sweetner- it is not full of chemicals).0 -
Bump! I just made oatmeal raisin cookies last night so until those are gone I'll hold off in giving myself an oatmeal overload :P0
