Pizza Burgers
1 lb extra lean ground beef (prefer 97% lean)
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1/4 tsp salt
3 oz low-fat mozzarella (sliced or shredded)
1/2 cup low-fat marinara sauce
4 whole grain or whole wheat hamburger buns
In a large bowl, mix the beef, oregano, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and salt until well combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into balls, packing them tightly as you do. Shape into burgers.
Grill the burgers until desired doneness. About 1 minute before they are done, divide the cheese slices among the tops and let melt. Meanwhile, heat the sauce in the microwave (in a microwave safe bowl) for approx 30-60 seconds.
Place burgers on buns and top each with 2 TBS of sauce and serve. YUM!

i have a similar recipe but i add sauteed onions and peppers it gives it a bit more pizza topping feel0

I think I'm going to do this tomorrow night! Possibly trade out the buns for sandwich thins or lettuce0
