discrepancy in numbers??

I have a Polar FT4. I have noticed there seems to be a discrepancy in the numbers that MFP gives vs what the HRM is saying I am burning. I have been going with the HRM numbers.
This week I have used it at the gym and the same thing is going on.
Example: I used the elliptical for 30 minutes. The machine said I had burned 280 calories and the HRM said 195.
Has anyone else noticed a big difference in their numbers?

I notice a small difference in the numbers of calories burned when comparing my HRM, MFP, and what the machine (treadmill, elliptical) says. I usually take the average of the three.0

The machines are known to over estimate quite a bit.0

My treadmill and HRM are different by about 20 cals, MFP and my HRM are WAY diff....MFP is only an estimate, I'd go with what the HRM says. )0
