Anybody doing P09x? And if so, how do you log it in the excercise menu?

I made my own excercise for that and just use calories burned from my HRM

I am and I log them as cardio, I just put in the amount of time (dvd) and calories burnt. I use a HRM (heart rate monitor), so just plug that number in along with the time I spent.

Example, for Yoga - 90 minutes and 'x' number of calories.

How long have you been doing P90X? How do you like it so far? I'm about halfway thru my first round of it.

i use my bodymedia (heart rate monitor) but before i got it, i would log all of the strength days as "circuit training, general" and all of the cardio days as "aerobics, high intensity" i would log core synergistics as "aerobics, general" and sometimes the kenpo as "judo, karate, kick boxing, tai kwon do"

    yoga i logged as yoga.

after getting the bodymedia, i found that MFP was pretty close on the strength days as well as the cardio, but i started to log kenpo as "aerobics, high intensity" bc the judo one was a bit higher than i actually burned.

    hope that helps!

i also created exercises that are specifically p90x. i don't know if everyone can use them, but when i search exercises under "p90x" they do show up, but maybe that's bc i created them?

U need a heart rate monitor-unless ur like me and don't have 1. For abs and pushups I look up calorie burned for calisthenics-also use "strength training." For the cardio/pylo part I have looked under aerobics-high impact??

I've been logging it as general aerobics for core synergistics, kenpo, and cardioX. For Ab Ripper, I log it as sit-ups, vigorous. But I always make a note about what I actually did that day. I don't usually eat back all my exercise calories, so I figure it's ok if my calories burned are not completely accurate.

I'd invest in a HRM and create your own exercises. The calorie burned estimates on MFP are extremely high from what I've found. Good luck P90X is a blast

Thanks all, sounds like a monitor is the accurate way to go. I'm going to start on 8/14. Gotta get past Sturgis Rally first, too much self indulgence and debauchery to indulge in before I jump into a fitness program full force. Is that twisted? Anybody ever go on any kind of a binge before their start date?

Haha every weekend :) Enjoy Sturgis, we were going to go this year but ended up riding to North Carolina to do the Blue Ridge and Dragon.
