Every year, bunches of my aunts and uncles and cousins and other extended family get together for a week at a working farm in the Catskills (NY). I have a plan in place.

I am going to run every morning (my usual run), but around the lake - I can't wait! I am going to count calories as best as possible, but I'm not going to be as strict as I usually am. I'm counting on going over cals throughout the week, and I'm not going to stress about it. All meals are provided in a big dining hall, family-style. Lots of rice and noodles and gravy. I'll do the best I can. I'm going to eat, but I'll be reasonable about it. Lunches are as big a meal as dinner. I'll ask for some turkey slices and wrap them in lettuce for several lunches.

The one thing, though, is the night they serve the butter cake. OMG, it's the closest thing to heaven that I have ever had. I'm telling you now: all bets are off that night. I usually eat 5 pieces, but I'll keep it to 4 this year. :blushing: Hey! It's once a year!

I will also walk the lake with my mother and aunts and cousins in the evening.

That's my plan.
