Hi,
With my last pregnancy it was sweet stuff like lemon drops, sour heads, and prego suckers that got me through but this time around anything sweet makes me gag. I'm having trouble eating my calorie intake the queasiness is so bad around the clock.
So any tips out there are highly appreciated?
Thanks for reading!

Aw, I'm sorry you're not feeling well! Maybe savory things that have good fats like nuts (raw almonds and walnuts are great), olives, and avocado?

Peppermint candies and/or minty gum was my lifesaver. I had morning sickness for the first 4 1/2 months of my pregnancy with twins then was ok for about 6 weeks and then sick again for the rest of my pregnancy. Good luck to you :)

When I had it I would take raw ginger root, slice a couple tablespoons off it, and boil it in water, like a tea, then let it cool to room temp and drink that. It is a natural anti-nausea agent.

    Those are sound doable. Thanks!

I survived on peppermint tea (no sugar), altoids and those little red and white peppermint candies that taste like candy canes. I also found ginger tea and pretzels helpful on occasion but peppermint was what soothed me the most. Also try aromatherapy. It works surprisingly well and you can buy nausea formulations that you just sniff when you need it.

I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum when I was pregnant which meant I was sick 12+ times a day my entire pregnancy. It was hell lemme tell ya...but the only things that did not mess with my tummy were pretzels and peanut butter. The doc said the salt helps calm the nausea and the protein in peanut butter helps too. A protein snack before bed can help you be less queasy in the morning. Also, sip water, don't chug. A sloshy tummy is a queasy tummy. Good luck and congrats!
  • Nothing ever worked for me with my morning sickness... which lasted the entire time I was pregnant! So I have tried it all, finally relying on having to be fed by an IV and perscription meds for the nausea.

I found that the old standard of saltines before I even sat up in bed helped a bit in the morning. I'd roll over and eat 4 or 5 and then lay there for another 10 or so minutes. Plus plain white toast.

During the day when I could eat it was a lot of potatos. KFC mashed and frozen tator tots if you can believe that one! I know not the healthiest stuff... but maybe simple carbs might work.

My dr always told me in the beginning that as long as I was getting fluids in, then all would be fine. I remember he suggested Perier and when they always had chicken broth for me at the hospital when I was there.

Good luck and hang in there! If it really does get too bad make sure to call your dr and check in. They might be able to offer some good suggestions as well. Oh and supposedly one of the B vitamins is supposed to help as well.... I just can't remember which one.
