Hi,
I work out 5 times a week for a minimum 1 hour each time. I eat clean and lean, occassional cheat. I was 113 when I started and now, I'm 120.. Something is wrong?? Any ideas..

Maybe your gaining muscle. What about inches have you tracked that?0

Are you eating your exercise calories?
Are you weight training?
Are you drinking enough water?
There are many factors that could be playing a role in your particular issue.
I wasn't really losing when I started heavy workouts, as soon as I cut WAY back.... I lost more.
You have to figure out your body and how it responds and to what.0 -
I weight train three times a week 45 minutes, cardio 5 times. I drink water maybe not the complete 8 glasses. Nope I'm not eating my exercice calories, I limit myself to 1200 max... 7 pounds of muscle.0

I'm just curious why you wanted to lose weight at 113lbs? It sounds like you've definitely gained muscle mass and 120lbs is still an excellent weight.0

Hmmmm....
There is a lot of controversy about this..... and I actually do it.
They suggest that you eat those exercise calories because MFP already has created a deficiet so you will lose weight. If you don't eat them, your body may dip too low and not have enough to burn so it thinks it is starving.
That's what they say....and I do it.
I actually use my BMR as my low point and adjust as I lose weight.
If I work out I add those in to my daily intake.0 -

If you only eat 1200 calories and you don't eat your exercise calories, your body is only getting the calories left after working out. So say you burn 500, your body is only running on 700 calories a day which is not enough. You're body is probably in starvation mode. You have to eat back whatever you work off, plus your alloted calories a day.0 -
I get that but I'm not hungry for the remaining calories. OH, I only measure 5 feet, so I'm petite and wanted to loose the extra pounds (inches to flab).0

Just because YOU don't feel hungry doesn't mean your body isn't still.
That's a big difference.0 -
I get the not hungry thing, so I eat about 200-300 calories every 2 hours, 6 x a day, every meal is small and so I'm never really hungry, but I for sure get my 1200 and not more than 1800. I drink 16-20 glasses of water daily. On the days I'm working out 2x I make sure to eat the 300 per meal.0

Wow! That's crazy. If I drank that much water I would spend the whole day at the bathroom.. It's impossible..0

yikes, you can't workout that much and eat that little and not expect your body to be out of whack either stop excercising or start eating more.0

Do you belong to a gym? If so, see if they can do a body composition test for you. It will give you a break down of your body (fat, water, muscle...). You may be pleasantly surprised.:flowerforyou:0

I wouldn't be surprised if the lean protein is adding to your muscle mass. It looks like you only joined in November so no worries. Too many people freak out, and do they really think that THEIR body alone is different then any in the history of the entire human race?! I highly doubt it, eat healthy, watch your calories, exercise and it will eventually show. :drinker:0
