eating all my exersize cal doesnt work for me

well i thought id give it a go as everyone keeps telling me i must eat my exersize calories soooo i did and to be honest i found myself eating more and more as my workouts are getting longer....
now i didnt put weight on wicvh is a good thing but i did maintain which is not a bad thing its just i wanted it to go down.... so what im going to try this time is to eat half of what i burn in the gym.... see how that works out.

that sounds good. especially if you dont have a HRM, because the machines and MFP tend to be way off from what i hear.0

It does not work for me either. I tend to add my excercising to MFP for tracking purposes but I do not eat the added calories. I just stick to my daily limit.
It's important to remember that creating a calorie deficit happens over the course of a few days or even a week and not daily which is why we see weight loss happen over the course of a week and not daily... otherwise we'd lose 30 lbs in 30 days!! Too bad it was not that easy eh...

I'm in the don't eat your calories camp. I've never eaten mine (I look at my food that I log, but I don't really care what the numbers say), and sometimes I net only 600 calories for the day.
As long as you are eating every couple hours, you'll fuel yourself during the day and be fine.
I've lost 30lbs in 10-11 weeks doing it this way.0 -
I don't eat my exercise calories......I eat to my goal calories, and I'm not hungry after that. I find the exercise tends to suppress my appetite a bit too.0

I don't eat mine back either, I just make sure that I eat at least 1200 NET. I don't go below that.....sometimes 1100 but I try not, it can cause "starvation mode"0

I don't generally eat the exercise calories. My understanding of weight loss is eat less move more, so if you eat less, move more and then eat what you moved......defeat purpose. Maybe I'm wrong, but its working for me. Sometimes i eat some of them, but never all.0

I try to eat them back, especially on days where I am doing multiple long bike rides, in the heat, on consecutive days, where I am burning off 3,000 calories or more each day. I find it hard to eat them all back, but I also find that if I do not at least try to do so, I end up performing poorly and get fatigued more easily on subsequent days. I am a firm believer, though, that you get to know your own body, work with it, give it quality fuel and try to give it what you think it is telling you--honestly--and sometimes with "tough love." I think if you do that, all will be well, regardless of what the calculators and the numbers say. So go for it, listen to your body, and do what your heart and mind tell you to do. I asked my trainer about this and she said if you are trying to lose weight you should stick to your goal calories for the day and NOT eat your exercise calories back - defeats the purpose. I think it only works when you are trying to maintain... I am trying to lose the last 10 lbs and have been stuck at a plateau forever and thru this site I found I was not eating enough calories - barely 1200 a day so have been trying to do 1400-1500 calories, plus working out hard 5 x week and have lost 2 lbs in the last 2 weeks... If I ate my exercise cals I would have to eat like 2300 a day - no way that is possible!!0
