Just wondering how much you average for daily calorie net intake?? I have the bodymedia and it says i burn approximately 2500 calories per day and I have been stuck in a plateau for 6 months!! I keep gaining and losing the same 5 pounds. I tried eating 1700-1900 and overall gained. Tried eating 1400-1600 and overall gained, tried eating 2000 and gained. This has been ongoing for months and I dont know what to do. I have been told to keep my defecit pretty low since I only have 8 pounds or so to goal, so that would mean bumping up my intake to 2200-2300.
Any thoughts??
I work out 6 days per week, and am in week 10 of p90x. (I have toned up some, but no change in measurements/clothes/etc)
Thanks!!!

Have you tied zigzagging your calories? I did that when I was in a plateau and it helped put me back on my weight loss track.

    I'm 5'9 and currently stalled at 157.

When I was losing, I was eating 1570 and losing just fine.. and now thats stopped.

I recently upped my calories to 1670... so we'll see how that goes.

I'm 5'8.5" and also only have <10lbs left.

My first 6 weeks on MFP I was "set" for a variety of different intakes, but my net averaged 1500. I lost 6lbs during that time. My bodyfat % dropped considerably and I did gain a little less than 1/2 of my fat loss in lean mass.

Then I had a 5 week long plateau. Again, I set for various intakes, but my net average was 1450. Less obviously was not more.

I have been set to 1700/day for about 3 weeks and am very close on the net about 85% of the time. I am down another 2.5lbs :D

I suggest bumping up to 2150 or so to start and see it that gets things moving. Give it at least 2-3wks.

Thank you all for the suggestions. It seems as thought the average intake for everyone posted is about 1500 plus exercise calories. Like i said i have tried so many things I am not sure what to do now. I think I will start by trying to zig zag calories and give that a2-3 weeks and then try increasing my calories.
I did lose 1 pound this past week, but that was after a 3 pound gain the prior 2 weeks so I am not sure if thats because I decreased my calories, or just fluid shifts or what. i am currently at a average of 750 to 1000 defecit per week and holding steady or gaining and losing the same 5 pounds. So frustrating!!!
Anyways thanks ladies for the info! I am going to try all suggestions!!!!

Hehe... correction: this morning I calipered at 18.95% BF by a pro figure-competitor & master trainer at my local 24hr Fitness. He says I DEFINITELY will see more fat loss if I up my calories a bit more from 1700. He said he was currently training a female bikini competitor who has less lean mass than I (I'm at 124lbs lean weight) and she's eating 2200-2500 calories/day!!! So I'll be increasing mine to 1950 today and probably go up each week.

He also said that at this point it would be worth my while to shell out for VO2 max testing to find out what I actually need based on what my body is actually doing vs. what some calculator estimates my metabolism to be. Sounds like it could benefit you too.

Do you know what your ratio of carbs to protein to fat is???

I can tell you I'm SET for 40% carbs, 20% protein and 25% fat. I try but many days my actual figures can be WAY off. Hmmm. Something else I'll have to geek out and figure what my actual intakes for each are, lol!
