Anyone used EA Sports Active?

I'm wondering if it's worth buying, or if I would be just as good with running on the treadmill in the basement? (I would get it for xbox btw)

I have it for PS3 and played it once. I wasn't very impressed. It was not very intense and I hardly burned anything. For me, my Jillian/Biggest Loser DVDs and a treadmill are much better.0

I have it for Wii and although typically I get a better workout with the treadmill, the game is a lot more fun than just a normal workout. Any burn helps, so for days where you want to exercise but you're bored/tired/etc, it's a great option. If nothing else it's just really fun for me0

I use it. Not the best burn I've ever gotten, but I can still feel/see the effects.0

That's the first program I used at the first of this year (it was the EA Sports Active 2 with the sensors). I can't remember how many pounds/inches I lost but it was A LOT. The workout is fun; there are different activities for you to do every day you're scheduled to workout. It is what you make of it really. Is it the most challenging? No - but I promise you that you will appreciate it.0

I have Active and Active 2. I like it a lot because I don't have a treadmill or gym membership. Active 2 has a heart rate monitor built in so it more accurately calculates your calories burned. I'm working through the 'cardio kickstart' program right now and I usually burn about 120 calories in 22 minutes. It definitely is a lot more interesting and targets more muscle groups than a basement treadmill.0

It's great. Way better than the JM games and the Wii Fit.0

I used it! Still do.
I won't say I *like* it, but it's plenty challenging. Sometimes it totally kicked my *kitten*. Sometimes I swear bloody murder at the virtual trainer. Sometimes it was easy. But if you do any of their "challenges" programs (there's a 3 week cardio challenge, or a 9 week challenge, and each challenge comes in easy, medium and hard levels), they get progressively harder.
I did the 9 week challenge on medium, which kicked my *kitten* at first, then the 3 week cardio on hard, which was too easy at that point, then the 9 week challenge on hard, which was challenging, but I was in pretty good shape by then. Now I mostly just do custom workouts. I like that I can plug in the exercises I want to do, and the evil sadistic personal trainer will correct me if my form is wrong, and it keeps track of my reps and calories burned.0 -
I use EA Active 2 right now and put together my own hour long programs using 5 lb weights and I easily burn between 500-600 calories an hour. I think it is a very decent workout.0
