Way too many carbs?

I switched to a vegan lifestyle at the beginning of this year and I LOVE it! I have done lots of research and I know the benefits of vegan vs. everything else. I do it because of ethical reasons and I have never been much of a meat eater. I always thought meat was gross. I have always loved cheese, so that was hard to give up, but I do not regret it. I've lost 44lbs, but I've hit a plateau this past month and I just recently looked back at my carb intake and I noticed I was eating between 200-300g of carbs a day! That is absolutely ridiculous and certainly not a well rounded diet. I've been trying to figure out why I'm stuck at this weight, and I think this has got to be it, so I've decided to reduce my carb intake to about 100g a day and up my protein a little (i actually get more protein than most people assume, so I don't need to add a lot more) for a bit and see if this helps with my plateau. I'm not looking for anyone putting down my vegan choice, or telling me how it can harm me. I have a Dr. in my family and we've talked and she thinks I'm going about it in a healthy way. I just want to know if y'all think reducing my carb intake from 200/300 a day to 100g a day will have an effect on my plateau?
