Ok...slightly confusing, but put yourself in someone else's shoes my MFP peeps. As a learner of a foreign language (French), I can attest to how difficult it is to express oneself. You feel all the emotions build inside you and you want to get them out for others to hear but have to struggle to find the right words. I'm sure if I wrote what he just said in French it would be wrong all over... just saying.

A foreign person trying to learn wouldn't be funny. The OP on the other hand seems to have tossed a bunch of words in a hat and drawn them at random.

Most people can spot someone learning a new language, this is not one of those cases.

He's 44 and seems to still be learning his first, so perhaps we should be more kind.

Right first of all," as a poster" the OP has been a member since 2008 and has successfully reached an incredible goal....and kept it there for many years.

Spelling and grammar doesn't give you a long healthy life does it??No, eating healthily and exercising does... He is an inspiration to everyone here! I really feel quite gutted that the members of this forum have responded in this way. Please do not discrimate...it makes for uncomfortable reading...to be honest the guys who are judging are making themselves look a little silly. Have a little decorum!

Secondly, "as a moderator" it is against the rules of MFP to insult a fellow user, If you are upset with posts then please report them...you risk being warned and warnings can lead to a suspension. Remember please that there is another PERSON on the other side of the forum. And in this case, a member who had knowledge, advice, experience of the forum and becoming healthier has been completed slated.

I agree. Shame on those that responded in a nasty way or in an attempt to be funny. When charged with emotions, it's hard to to write something coherent. I'm guilty of doing it many times.

I think this is what he is trying to say. I think he has been working hard on his fitness and people at work BS him with how easy it is for them, after doing nothing for 25 yerars, can now jog miles.

Hello. It’s been a while. I pop in and out as I love this site!!!! So, just a vent. I am just sick of people at work saying they are going to do this run, or lose 20 lbs in 30 days, or by their birthday, etc. They are always telling me I can’t do this or eat that - bread , meat, BEER!!!???? WTF? Let’s see, from 2008 until now, I’ve only gained 5 lbs total. This site, and p90x were awesome, but] now I am just doing a hybrid of my own, and p90x, about 5 to 15 minutes a day, unless I do the cardio, then I’m doing 45 minutes. You know, I can spot bull**** !! Don’t tell me that, 25 years since high school of doing nothing and you couldn’t jog 1 block even with a trainer that your work paid for, that within a week, you can now jog three miles. You are telling me you can now do 25 -40 miles after never doing anything, then, at any given time, 200 miles? Bam!!! But I did start doing only 5 or 6 miles. If any one reads this, it probably makes no sense, to that I’m sorry, just had to .................................................say something !!!

To all, thank you. Never give up!! To those who have lost their weight, good job!!! To those just starting, you can do it. Use this site!! The people and this site are great!!!!!! Again thank you.

I agree! He was upset, and for all you know English may be his second language (Just because he lives in Texas doesn't mean he was born and raised there). Even if English is his first language, there are things such as dyslexia (I have had friends who were highly intelligent, but had difficulty writing) which can deter writing.

He wasn't saying anything in an attempt to hurt anyone here, so I don't understand why anyone would feel the need to insult him. Leave the man alone.

Thank you for the words of encouragement! I am just starting out and it's nice to see people who have been on this site for awhile get to their goal and also maintain it like you have.

Hear, hear! I also have friends that are dyslexic and they are some of the most intelligent people that I know (in fact, a friend of mine in high school was dyslexic but scored almost perfect on his ACTs even though he had a C average in most classes). It infuriates me to see someone be made fun of or insulted because they aren't perceived as "intelligent" in some area. People are intelligent and gifted in different areas and shouldn't be put down because they may have difficulty with something. I'm rather terrible at mathematics, but that doesn't mean that I'm not an intelligent person. Everyone has their weaknesses.
