How many lbs do I need to shed to...

I have lost 17 lbs so far, and not one person (besides my husband) has said anything to me about it. I mean, if we are talking about it and I say that I have lost 17 lbs, they say, "I can tell...you look good!" But, I am dying for someone to notice withOUT mentioning it first.

Also, how many lbs do I need to lose to go down a size in clothes? Yes, my clothes fit better, not I am still in a size 10/12. I am so badly wanting to be in a single digit size. I know numbers don't mean much, but let's be real...we all want to change size.

I'm about to throw in the towel if it's not going to change anything...

    Hey girl!

I was in 11's for the looongest time.. but general rule of thumb for bigger sizes I think its a little more than ten pounds, the regular ones are about 10 for every size. You really just need to go jeans shopping to figure it out, that's what I did and I'm the same weight as you.

Thanks, maybe I should go try on new jeans, but I will be very upset if I don't go down any size! :/

depends on your height -- I guess you're tall if 17 lbs. hasn't changed your size yet. 5 lbs. changes a size on me (but I'm short).

Anyway, sometimes people notice but don't say anything bc they're not sure if they'll offend you by admitting that you needed to lose weight.

I know what you're saying though, it could be worse--what if you told people you'd lost weight and they said "really?". This has happened to me :(

Or - - as I was insulted last weekend by the owner of the restaurant where I am a belly dancer, he said "you've lost weight" then immediately said "good, because you were too chubby before".

    sheesh. RUDE!

I'm not that tall... 5'7" but I guess not short either. Thankfully I haven't had any negative remarks though.

No one said anything to me that didn't know I was trying to lose weight until I lost between 20-25 lbs....it felt great when it did happen, but it does take awhile sometimes!

I lost quite a bit more than that before people really started to notice and comment.
Or maybe they noticed but didn't want to comment because they might feel rude.... just keep going, you know you've lost the weight and it you keep it up you will be surprised what you can fit into!
