So our neighbors arent the most....observant people. Apparently the one was speaking to dh and talking about my little veggie garden. My neighbor was concerned about my 'watermelon' turning orange....

Uhmmmmmm.....it's a pumpkin!

    LOL! One summer the kids and I ate watermelon on the front porch. I taught them how to spit the seeds into the planter off the porch. We had a really good rainy season that year. About 4 months later my son comes running in......screaming he grew a watermelon.

    I just laughed and followed him outside. As we approached the planter he pulled aside the leaves of a bush and showed me a good 2 lb watermelon!:noway:

    He is 25 and still insists it was HIS seed that started that melon:laugh:


    (we also grew a tomato bush when the boys had a rotten tomato fight in the back yard!!)

    We live in South Florida so it is growing season all year. It just occured to me I need to pay more attention to my yard :laugh:
