Tennis Elbow

I have a question. I'm pretty sure I have tennis elbow....it runs in my family. I'm not sure what has caused it. I'm about to be 31 and my elbows burn quite often . Anyway I haven't lifted weights in a while and the other night I did a workout video with a class and I used 3# weights the first 25 min and 5# weights the second 25 min. My elbows handled the weights okay while I was using them, but then afterward I had to take some advil just to be able to sleep they were burning so bad. So I am here to ask if anyone has any advice on anything that I can do to alleviate the burn? I love using weights in my workouts but gosh I'm not so sure the burning elbows are worth it.

i had tennis elbow quite severely when i was in carpenter school. I went to physio and got Active Release Therapy on my elbow. Painful as all hell but it cured the tennis elbow and i worked as a carpenter for 8 yrs and never had so much as a twinge again. Do have it diagnosed properly by your doctor first, then find a physio therapist or a chiropractor who does ART. dont wear those braces that some people wear for tennis elbow. both my therapist and doctor agreed that it usually makes it worse rather than helps.0
