Ok, so here is where I am at.
I started MFP faithfully about a month and a half ago. I have had some higher calorie days mixed in among the ones where I stuck to my goals, but it has probably been like 5 days over the month and a half. My goal is set to 1.5lbs a week, which is 1670 calories and just under my BMR. That was a change that really helped me start losing. I have been working on getting in more water during the day and found it made a big difference at first.
As far as working out, I work out about 4 times a week. I usually do the elliptical (30mins) and then some form of strength training with it. I mix it up depending on how I feel that day. I recently got a Polar F6 to make sure I was accurately getting my exercise calories measured. And I do eat my exercise calories!
That being said... why did the scale stop moving?! I haven't lost in two weeks. In fact, I have gained at least five pounds. I am nearing the end of my TOM, but the scale was up before I usually see that water retention show up. I did switch scales and I am wondering if I never really lost the last five pounds and just thought I did b/c of the old tricky scale! I have lost about 3/4 of an inch off my waist and that seems to be it in terms of seeing progress.
My whole body hurts today from working out this week and pushing myself to the limit. I'm proud of myself for that, but the goal is really weight loss. I so want to be able to show off the changes at Christmas to my family. I was on track to make my goal for Christmas and now it seems hopeless. I'm worried I am missing something and really need all this hard work to pay off. I am sick of being overweight and I have finally decided to put real work into changing it, so why is the scale so stubborn!!! (And the measuring tape, too, for that matter!) :explode:

Hang in there! Success is right around the corner.Stay off the scale, how do your clothes feel? You may just be adding muscle. But either way, keep focused on your goal, and don't get discouraged! Good luck!!:flowerforyou:0

for one, I would stop working out til exhaustion, since you are eating all of your exercise calories, exercise is getting your body in shape, but isn't making you lose, it will speed up the metabolism some during the day, but is that worth killing yourself?? And don't think about not eating the exercise calories, that is what got us all here.
Two I think you are way too hard on yourself and would compoletely blame it on the scales and your TOM.
Three. Sometimes our bodies need to adjust getting the right amount of food each and every day before it will relax and start losing again and you may even gain (which you think you did) for a bit. Remember it has never been able to depend on us for regular fuel and during the first couple of weeks of getting it right, it is confused.
You know you are doing everything right, so this week relax just blame it on the scales. It will start coming off regularly..
Remember slow and steady wins the race, waiting is painful, but it does happen.0 -
I agree with allaboutme. Blame it on the scales and TOM. Its highly unlikely that you gained five pounds of fat in two weeks anyway. My guess is that some is lean muscle mass and the rest is water retention. From your post you're definitely on the right track, so, don't sweat the scales too much and just keep on doing it! The scale will move eventually! Good luck! :flowerforyou:0

I actually had to stop working out for a while to start losing again.
Which sounds bad....but when I work out....nothing happens no weight loss....I just start to look like a short line backer. I will see how this week went to see if I want to slowly add a little cardio here and there....because I want to be toned at the end of this journey.0
