Dislocated Ribhead = FUN!!!!

I have had this 3-4 times in my life, and it is always a good time.. my MD was not really able to give me anything solid, but a chiropractor said that the ribhead (attachment to the spine) was dislocated or "slipped" and he was able to adjust it and i felt great. This time he was only able to get it to move a little, because I was so tight from a full day with the surrounding muscles in spasm.

The bad news is that I missed three workouts this week, but I did make it to the gym last night. I tried to tighten down my diet to compensate for the missed workouts.

In case you are curious about symptoms. its a dull ache non stop, almost like there was constant pressure from a blunt object on one spot (between the shoulder blades for me). when I would turn or move in a certain way it was a VERY intense sharp pain. I have a pretty high pain threshold, but it would still stop me in my tracks. This is still a bit in the gray area, where MD's will typically tell you that you need rest and a handful of pills, but chiropractors actually feel you spine and they have been able to pinpoint exactly where it hurts. the last time I had this my wife was actually able to feel that one rib was noticeably higher than the others, and after adjustment it was back in place.

I couldn't live without my chiropractor! Every now and again, I get a massage before an adjustment and that really helps the chiropractor. Would that be a possibility for you?

I once had a MD scold me for seeing my chiropractor - she told me I should have seen her instead and she would have prescribed something for the pain! Ahhh - thanks, but no thanks!
