Soda Quota
Regular soda is definitely out because it a major calorie overload — but guess what, I don't want you drinking diet soda either! I'm a former diet soda addict myself, and believe me, it almost killed me to get off that junk. After I stopped drinking it every day, though, I could definitely feel the difference being off those chemicals!
As I've grown in the health and wellness realm, I've become very passionate about being natural and organic with what I'm putting into my body. While the FDA still doesn't ban these products, I could go on and on about research I've found about aspartame (the sweetener in Diet Coke). The main thing I want you to do is try your best to limit your exposure to it.
If strictly water (the best option!) is out of the question, drink unsweetened ice tea or coffee — both have zero calories. If you need to sweeten your coffee or tea, xylitol and stevia are better, more natural options than sucralose (Splenda). Xylitol is a naturally occurring sweetener that's extracted from the fibers of certain fruits and vegetables, and stevia comes from a South American plant.
I personally use xylitol all the time, usually one packet at a time in my coffee or tea. It's nontoxic, but since it's a sugar alcohol, you could have digestive issues if you use a lot of it. I've never had a problem.
You've hit your soda quota — now's the time to look for alternatives to rid you of your soda addiction!
Hmm...I do love my diet soda...Coke Zero especially! But, I think that I'm going to get off the soda kick I've been on.
I'm going to try to make today my 1st day soda free!! Oh, and my 2nd day of not eating past 8:00

WTG on your goal there. I quit drinking any soda back in August. It is just easier for me to do that than still have one a day or something like that. I might have a sip of the kids drink or something like that every once in a while if I dont happen to have my water with me at the time. To make it easier for me I drink nothing that is carbonated except for when I had the stomach flu this past week and I had sprite but other than that nothing carbonated.

I have been with out a soda since the end of September and it is pretty easy not to have it at all. I do have one every once and awhile but I notice that I don't finish them or the taste of them is pretty gross. If I do crave a coke I will drink a diet one and then I am okay. I have been a big fan of water so that is pretty much my drink of choice right now. I can tell a big difference in my skin and how my body feels with out the soda. :bigsmile:0

i sort of quit drinking diet pepsi with out really noticing i did it. i was trying to cut backon grocery bills so i would buy a case of green tea or a case of soda but never both. well i have had the same 12pk in my frig for like 3 months i have drank maybe half. i guess i like green tea more huh. i feel so bloated after i drink soda now, so i just steer away from it. it has made a difference in how i feel i think0

Yep, I quit diet pepsi all together. I havent had one since the end of Sept. and it was really very easy. I never thought that I could go even a day without my diet pepsi! It had been the only thing I drank day in and day out (except for my morning cup of coffee) for YEARS. Now the only thing I drink is water all day, with a RARE ocassional 8oz of Lipton tea with lemon with dinner.0
