Im fairly certain this has been asked over a million times already but do you follow the guided plan of MFP or did you customize it for your success? Reason asking is if I follow the Harris Benedict method than my BMR is 1600 and my maintenance calories are 2200 at a lightly active lifestyle and I should eat 1500-1600 meanwhile MFP tells me my BMR is 1543 and my maintenance calories are 2080 and I should be eating 1200 net. I typically eat my workout calories back though, making the total for the day as close to 0 as possible. So I eat say 1500 calories because I burn 300 via exercise. With such a plan am I burning more than I consume?

I would say that you should try MFP for a month... and then if you see room for progress then slowly bump up your calories closer to the HB plan....
Really, its all about what works for you. 1200 calories NEVER worked for me. But 1200 works great for other people.
So again, try MFP for a month and then customize it if you feel it necessary.0 -
Agreed I tried MFP for a month, then switched it up because I was losing better with my custom plan - but the MFP one is a great one to start out with unless you have different info from your Doc or Nutritionist (not Personal Trainer lol)0
