I feel silly asking this, but is a HRM what I want to purchase in order to figure how many cals I'm actually burning per workout session??? And if so, how do I calculate them based on the HRM digits? Is there a particular formula? Thanks for any help!

Im actually looking into buying one myself, and from what Ive gathered on the boards here, it does calculate the calories you burn.

It calculates the calories you burn based on your age, weight, height and heart rate. Look at different models and get the one with the most features that you will actually use. I recommend Polar. No, I odn't work for them but I've owned two and have been very pleased.0
