Losing with Thyroid Disease... ?

so is the overall consensus that this is a condition for life or that it can fix itself somehow down the line?
I talked with my Dr. about it. She said it is possible hypothyroidism could've been triggered by stress and helped along by weight. And, with weight reduction, exercise, and stress reduction, there's a chance of being weaned off the meds, but the chances are slim -- very slim. I wouldn't give up hope though. I'm doing research on my own, making changes in my diet, losing weight, meditating, and anything else that could remotely help (which isn't risky of course). If I beat hypothyroidism, I'll be the first to post here to let you all know about it. In the meantime, I'm taking my Levothyroxin early in the morning (same time every day) and waiting 1 hr before I eat anything... as prescribed.0
