Today I did really well by eating just below my recommended calorie intake of 1200 and the days before that too. However, today for example i ate 20 over in carbs and 8 over in protein. Does this mean that I will not loose weight? Or is my weight loss based solely on calorie intake. I can understand that if I eat too much fat in my diet even though my calore intake is lower than needed I will probably not loose weight. Can the same be said for carbs? protein?

Thanks.

Normal weight loss is based solely on "calories in, calories out", especially at first. 3500 calories = one pound so eat 3500 calories less than you burn and you'll lose a pound. The combination of grams of fat/protein/carbs is not going to make much of a difference, especially as a one day event. One day of doing anything differently isn't going to mess up your weight loss.

I don't know how tall you are, or anything, but please try not to go below 1200 a day, as that might put your body in starvation mode and cause you to not lose any weight. It's better to be over by a bit (1250) than under by a few (and I don't know how "few" your few under was. If it was 5 calories, then no big deal, but if it was 100 or 200, then add some healthy food to your diet.

Going over in protein isn't a big deal- mfp seems to set their protein level low. In carbs, if it's healthy whole grains then I wouldn't worry. If you are over with pastries and cookies, then I'd worry.
