Has anyone read "This is Why You're Fat" by Jackie Warner? You follow a clean diet for 5 days, then you may have 2 cheat meals one the weekend. I was wondering is this was healthy. Any opinions?

    This isn't a new concept.

This sounds like a typical bad week for me. I am good during the week and the weekend hits and I eat off of my plan. It doesn't work for me because I usually gain back what I lost during the week and them some due to water retention from extra sodium. It may work for some, but not for me!

I think that is what a lot of people try to do, eat something when they go out on the weekends, it has worked for me! :)

I read it and I had results.. Just didn't stick to it.
Of course not new ideas, but some interesting information.
I'm actually reading Jillian's book "Master your Metabolism" now and find it a lot more interesting, but it's packed with a lot more scientific information.

    :)

If only we could all have a personal chef... would make everything so much easier. ;0)

    Good luck!!! :)

    Never read the book, but...
I eat clean all week (low to no carbs) and only do one day a week non clean. I DON'T over do it or go crazy and eat everything in sight and I DON'T skip workouts.
For example, tomorrow I will have fast food for lunch (whataburger) and something carby for dinner. Sunday and the rest of the new week, I will eat clean again. The reason you have to have one day non-clean is because your body will become accustomed to a certain way of eating. This is why no carb diets stall out. The one day allows for you to shock your system.
On that day off, you still have to be mindful of what you eat. I still stay under calories. I broke through my plateau and have continued to lose weight with this method. It has also made me feel better.

It works differently for everyone...some might like a cheat day, cheat meal, or just want to eat clean overall. Personally I like to have a cheat meal once in awhile but make sure to come back. My body will start craving the bad foods (fast foods, etc) but I'm strong enough to get back to work. Just depends on an individual basis.
